lush spring
lush spring is a sprawling ambient record loosely inspired by a Helen Frankenthaler painting of the same name. Much like Frankenthaler's expressive 1975 artwork, the record paints verdant mountains, vast skies, and flowing rivers with broad strokes. Dense mallet instruments, glimmering synths, and airy woodwinds are dotted with birdsong and layered over beds of field recording. Woven together, these sounds allow the record to meander from dawn to dusk in a lush tropical dream.
